Aptoide – Things you need to know about Aptoide

Aptoide is a distributed market for portable applications which works on the Android operating system. In Aptoide, unlike the standard Google Play Store, there is not a special and common store, but each person controls their store.

Currently, there are numerous types of the Aptoide app: Aptoide for smartphones and supplements, Aptoide TV – a model for intelligent TVs and STBs, and Aptoide Kids – developed for kids devices. Recently, Aptoide released a VR App-Store.

Aptoide also provides B2B solutions, allowing its partners to control their app-store in an independent and personalized way. The Android application used to access the shops is open source, and there are many forks including F-Droid The interaction between your consumer and computers is completed having an open protocol based on XML.

The style is influenced by the APT packaging supervisor, that may work with multiple sources. When the user needs a bundle, they use the consumer to search for options where the application form is stored. The name Aptoide is formed in words “APT” and “ride.” The Aptoide system is available in over 40 languages, having reached over 97 million users in 2015 and 2.8 billion packages. Inside the various stores, it is possible to get over 700.000 Android applications.

Aptoide started being a suggestion of Paulo Trezentos in the 2009 Caixa Mágica Summer Camp. The proposal was recognized and later became what today is Aptoide. This first level of development has later created the opportunity of SAPO Summer bits.

The concept behind Aptoide originated from various sources. On the one hand, the research in Linux installers in Mancoosi European Project, Paulo Trezentos Ph.D. project and Portugal Telecom A5 phone, a project where the team participated. At the end of 2010, it had been presented in the Bazaar Android site. Bazaar Android provided the likelihood for that customer to create their store. In August 2012, Aptoide and Bazaar Android brands were joined to allow an improved communication.

In November 2011, Aptoide was included in Europe.
